| Since 1984, Gift of Life Transplant House has been called "a home away from home" by transplant patients of Mayo Clinic Rochester. These patients have personally witnessed the hospitality, compassion, and friendliness of the people at Gift of Life -- and they regularly ask to stay here again upon return visits to Mayo Clinic. Part of our success in helping our guests is due to our active, long-standing affiliation with the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses (NAHHH), whose mission it is to support the nearly 180 hospitality houses across the country which serve people facing medical crisis. Since 2002, our founder, Edward Pompeian, and our executive director, Sister Jane Frances Gregoire, O.S.F., both have been members of the Board of Directors for NAHHH. Our close relationship with this organization has helped us benchmark the quality of our facility and enabled us to offer our guests a beautiful house that truly feels like a home. If you'd like to learn more about NAHHH, please visit their web site.
At Gift of Life, the staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers who regularly support the House are committed to
our mission: to provide transplant patients and their caregivers with high-quality, affordable accommodations in a supportive, home-like environment. In so doing, we hope we are helping the patients rest and relax which, in turn, will help them heal faster. We strive to be a "home that helps and heals."
If your transplant treatment (organ, stem cell, or bone marrow) brings you to Rochester, call us to schedule a tour of the House. In the meantime, use the links on the left to help you learn more about our home.
