Gift of Life Transplant House provides transplant patients and their caregivers with high-quality, affordable accommodations in a supportive, home-like environment. Gift of Life is an independent non-profit organization which relies on charitable contributions from the public for operational income and to meet expenses. Since the opening of our 724 Second Street House in 2009 we are still working toward paying off that mortgage. Your contribution here or in any manner is greatly appreciated as we continue to provide over 30,000 guest nights annually. Maintaining this depends on the generosity of the many individuals who value our services and financially support our mission.
Cash gifts are the most common way of contributing to Gift of Life. This is an excellent way of showing support for the House because gifts of cash and checks can be put to use immediately. Many employers have programs that will match your gift, automatically doubling your support of Gift of Life Transplant House. Remember to ask if your employer offers a matching gift program.
Gift of Life’s planned giving program “Leaving a Legacy” offers a simple and effective way to support the individuals and families who are currently benefiting, and will continue to benefit, from the facilities and services provided. A designated Legacy Society was established in 2010 to handle gifts and donations. The Legacy Society recognizes supporters who have notified us that they have included Gift of Life in their estate plans. Membership has no minimum gift or donation level, but represents a sincere desire by the donor to support the mission of Gift of Life through planned giving. Including Gift of Life in your estate plans helps guarantee that the facilities and programs can be maintained and updated as needed. Options include charitable remainder trusts, annuity trusts and unitrusts, as well as bequests and securities gifting. A trusted financial advisor can help guide you in making the right choice that will provide maximum benefit for all involved.
Volunteer assistance and financial contributions help Gift of Life provide comfortable and supportive living accommodations at a minimal cost to our guests. Further assistance comes from memorials, foundation grants, and trusts. Whether you would like to volunteer, provide a service, make a monetary contribution or donate supplies to Gift of Life, we are most appreciative! Please contact us directly.
