Each of our three kitchens is open 24 hours a day (except during daily sanitizing), and each provides all the usual kitchen supplies, including towels, pots, pans, plates, bowls, glassware, and cooking and eating utensils. Ample pantry, refrigerator, and freezer spaces are labeled with guest-room numbers, making it easy to find your space. Guests bring their own food and refrigerator-storage containers. A list of usual items to bring upon check-in is provided when guests tour the House. We ask that guests thoroughly clean the kitchen and dining room areas they use and wash their dishes prior to using the sanitizer.
Coin-operated washers and dryers and typical ironing and sewing supplies are available 24 hours a day in our laundry room. Guests bring their own detergent to clean their bed linens, towels, and clothing. A laundry basket is provided in each guest room. A dollar-bill change machine is provided in the laundry room.
No matter when you may stay at Gift of Life, theres something for everyone and every season. During the warm-weather months, our patios and outdoor furniture make a nice setting in which to pass the time. During the winter, the gas-operated fireplaces in our living room and library create a cozy, picturesque setting for book reading and other relaxing pastimes. Throughout the year, we often receive free tickets to local attractions -- events at Mayo Civic Center, ballgames, etc. Closer to home, the House offers many common areas for enjoying time alone or time with House guests or visiting friends. We also provide a billiards table, hundreds of books, outdoor grills, dozens of homemade quilts, numerous televisions, VCRs, DVDs, a piano, a pop machine, and the companionship of many friendly people.
